Tyzmon would have been raised to be a fighter, a warrior. "The Last BladeHunter" but, because Icon tried to dispose of him 'out of jealousy', and T is brought to the school where Macmillan has taken a job teaching (you should already know two things about Macmillan: a) he gave Tyzmon his magic b) if he could give immortality to Tyzmon, he's likely immortal too) ... Because of the family resemblance (or Mac already knows and the whole sordid affair was pre-planned) Macmillan realizes Tyzmon is his younger son.
One day, during class, Macmillan asks a question to which Tyzmon knows the answer and in that moment, Mac gives Tyzmon his powers, the event is overwhelming and well, you saw how it affected Tyzmon ...
Except in flashbacks, we won't see a lot of "Old Mac". He'll get his own book.
